This image was made using a violet LED laser and exhibits a “color fade” from blue green to violet and a bit of purple, attesting to both the non-monochromaticity of the light source and the optical dispersion of the medium. We’ll write a forthcoming “process” blog post with more details on the different lasers we use, their optical properties and how they impact the images.
Though the original images are nearly monochrome, this image together with Black on White and White on Black informs us that it is worthwhile exploring color modifications, each variation says something new and calls our attention to a different aspect of the image. We’ll expound on this in a later blog post, and in the meantime would love to hear your thoughts.
